Moral Dilema

It's a nice day and you are in the park when suddenly you see a huge black woman attack another woman walking with her two year old seemingly for no reason. Do you intervene or stand there filming it even when said attacker threatens to kick her victim's child in the head

These witnesses in the US done the latter and now the black woman is on the run

If it was over here I would POSSIBLY consider intervening. In the States, unless I was carrying a firearm, no.

EDIT* - I find it interesting that the local Police were angry that none of the bystanders intervened, but intervening in England would often see you getting arrested. Shows a huge cultural difference between Policing priorities in the States and the UK.

i have nothing against yanks tbh. I holiday there often enough with 2 trips coming up.

Pretty sure it was just because the word 'yank' was accompanied by the words 'S***house', 'gutless', and 'cowards'. As if 'yank' was supposed to be derogatory as well.

That's a bit over the top. "Yankee" is a widely used slang descriptive term, and "yank" is an accepted contraction thereof: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yankee

Unless one of our american members wants to correct that, I fail to see where you've managed to find xenophobia.

Outrage by proxy is a bad habit to get into, particularly as a moderator or staff member.
