Wanted him before but happy with Walsh who is best in the business and a good fit for us.
 
poor walshie. his office is covered in cladding and hasnt seen daylight in months. I hope this summer is better than last though in terms of transfers
 

For those saying that Walsh is the best in the business though, as a head scout, maybe he can be considered as one of the best, as a director of football he's a complete unknown commodity.

This sums it up well and is my point re Monchi. It would be a needless humiliation to demote Walsh but in practice getting support for Walsh. I'm not saying they will work but they could work together.

My understanding of a DoF is that as well as a myriad of other things they handle contract negotiations, bids on and received for players etc, which by all accounts is still being handled by kenwright and elstone.

Walsh as it stands isn't operating the role fully by a long shot, seems more gea sourced with control of the scouting network, identifying targets, and liasing with the u23s chief. At some point if we want the old guard removed then he needs to step up or another brought in to handle this side of things.
