Voted Rodwell because he looked so in control, but could have voted half a dozen others for various reasons. Please, please, please take that form on a good long run.

It was a close call, billy with three assists would any other night have got it, but Rodders was outstanding, his distribution is immense for his years, he was Patrick Viera in his prime last night (even tho they were a poor Atehns side).

Billy is the man of match for me, Rodwell did ok but consider he is usually more compose on the ball and know where to pass the ball I would consider this is one of his sub-class performance, but still one of the better player on the pitch!

In very much a team performance I went for Baines. I lost count of how many times he was the one getting our moves started with his running, intelligent overlapping and great control at pace.

Quite a few candidates last night, good performances all round. Pleased to see both our CB’s on the score sheet with Billy looking the business.
However, Jack Rodwell gets my vote. On top of his game last night with his passing and movement. Always seems to find himself in space, makes the game look so simple. Such maturity and still only 18

Went Yobo, deserved the armband on that performance. Keep it up Joey and Moyes will have a decision to make when Jags is back to whether he drops Yobo or Distin

Billy was in the lead at half time but Rodwell stole the show for me with several other candidates coming close. Yobo and Distin were solid at the back, Pienaar looked mustard on the right and Gosling did not put a foot wrong in an unfamiliar right back role.

Baines for me - he had such energy and skill all night...

Agree that Rodwell was great too. As for Billy, what impressed me was his confidence on the ball - a very natural player. That said, he was up against a powderpuff Athens side - I pray that he can do the same against some of the hypercommitted Premiership defences which he has yet to encounter.

One thought struck me repeatedly last night. We paid £15m for Fellaini and are still really waiting for him to deliver - last night he gave the ball away a number of times. We pay £9m for Billy and he comes on and grabs his first chance to shine like his life depends on it. Guess that's the difference between people...some can handle the step up straight away whilst others need time. I hope Marouane can cut it this level...

I find it hard to believe that Gosling hasn't been given a single vote.

I actually thought that Rodwell and Gosling were the best players on the pitch, but there seems to be a bit of a golden boy attitude towards Rodwell, and people forget that Rodwell was playing the position he always plays, but Gosling was playing out of position as Right Back.
Twice Rodwell was nowhere to be seen when shots were coming in from outside the box, but other than that he did a great job.

I thought in the first half Gosling was magnificent, and easily the best player of the first half.

Bilyaleletdinov had a good game, and crossed the ball well in 2 of the 3 corners he took, and also the free kick, but was never motm.

I'm giving my vote to Gosling for doing a great job in a strange position.

I too noticed Gosling's contribution although i did give my motm to Rodwell. Gosling was an excellent back in a position we badly needed filling and all credit to the lad has he did'nt go around sulking because he was played out of position. Instead, he put on an excellent display and deserves that recognition.

Pienaar for me, showed class and maturity, dont know what to think about the Osman now, he came on and showed that there is a huge gulf in class between him and Billy, I feel sorry for him but he will get found out soon enough. To make progress Osman should be on the bench at best and possibly looking for a stint in a bottom half of the prem team.
