Between the loan fee with PSG and this deal were probably around breaking even with him. Not bad for a player that doesn't want to be here at all
Does look like another poor choice originally though, 1 year left when we took him on……
Worst thing about this whole sorry affair is it makes Sourness look like he knows what he’s talking about….

is it? - not according to the majority who were demanding PSG pay 40m for him to fund our transfer war chest.
 

I suspect whoever does that role if not Brands, will still be a bit hamstrung by the whims of the owner….. so they would either have to accept some recruitment they might otherwise steer clear of, or we will appoint them / they will walk at a faster rate than we get through managers atm.

so for FFP purposes does any loan fee plus the obligation to buy fee go on the books now allowing us more leeway in the market now or is it just the loan fee now and the obligatory fee at the end of the one or two year period? Confused!

If it is obligation as long as he’s not crocked, you’d recognise it now and have a contingency liability on the books.
