The point often - and usually wilfully, it seems - overlooked is that he doesn't seem to want to play for us. Yes, he has some attributes that would be good for us, were he to play for us, which he wouldn't do with any great regularity given DCL's form and, again, it's a big "if" because he doesn't seem to want to play for us.

Whether it's the country, league, team or any combination of the three that he doesn't like, I don't know, but a good player can't be made to be good for a team because he's technically good. We've seen enough "superstars" flop in the PL to know that there has to be a bond between player and club for the club to get the best or better out of the player.

Yes, @Zatara we will 100% have to sign a replacement when we sell him, and I would like to think we will, and then the ol' emotional rollercoaster starts all over again. If we managed to dig up a carbon copy player with more of a willingness to play for us, I wouldn't be upset with that at all.

A general air of disinterest when he did play, him and his agent pushing for a loan move rather than staying to fight for his place, absolutely zero indication that he wants to come back after his loan.

I get your point though, and he certainly hasn’t been explicit in his desire not to be here, but I would suspect that’s more to do with hedging his bets than any sort of loyalty.

TBF why would he, his agent or any footballer in his situation want to come back here? We promised to play him and didn't, except here and there, even though we were terrible for most of that time. PSG took him and played him, and have reaped the rewards.

Fair do's. Wasn't having a go, I just see this shout a lot and wondered where it came from.

TBH I think he's very much of the Richarlison school of looking like a moody sulk when on the pitch without actually being one.
He did go mental on the couple of occasions he actually scored.

I could be wrong, mind.

Either way, made up to see his loan going well. A win/win for us.
If he comes back, he has a load of experience and is clearly growing as a player, if not, then you'd expect his value is rising way above what we paid for him.
