Do we know he doesn't speak the language? I'd be terribly surprised if a 19-year-old Italian kid doesn't, at the very minimum, have a good grasp of English at a conversational level. And even at that level, I wouldn't expect the club to be rolling him out to do interviews in English. I am sure he speaks a lot more English than most people think. Aside from that, yes I can imagine it would have been difficult to move to the north of England, however the club would have done more than enough to make him feel as comfortable as possible.
