I’m not disagreeing but it’s worth looking at it from another angle. How many times have we had a situation where you’re screaming ‘play him in, he’s through’? Not many. That suggests it’s not only the others at fault, the strikers aren’t making the runs either. As has been said by others, lukaku always looked dangerous when we played a similar way.

That's why I wanted Mitrovic, All we do is swing balls into the box and we can get his big Serbian concrete head on it to score, It's not pretty but if we're gonna play that way at least get the correct player for it, None of this crossing garbage benefits Kean.

The only time you get a through ball from our Icelandic creative machine is on a counter or if there's a million yards of space to put someone through.

This. Get Iwobi behind him and have some balls going into his feet. Had a decent chance against Sheffield Utd well blocked but he'll probably need more than one chance like that a game in this league.

It feels like this has somehow been true about our attacking dating back even to Moyes, though at least under him Baines and Pienaar passed the ball around a bit on the left rather than just lumping it in.
