As an agent, you'll suspect they'll use that original deal as a benchmark rather than sticking to it. "You said you'll pay x, but now he's improved, so we need y."

I like this sentiment. If we're identifying potential before they make the big breakthrough then we have a working formula in place finally that suits us at this moment in time.
