Juan Agedulo is my new man crush. He really seems this good. He will be in Europe by the start of the 2012 season. He just looks that good. I hope he schools the LA beach goers.

He is growing on me as well.. Would love if Moyes scooped him up.

Beach goers!??!?!? :)

Agudelo probably won't start is my bet - it'll be Rodgers upfront with Henry, and then Juan will come in as a supersub (and play against Landon, which will be surreal).

I hope it's an exciting game for ESPN2, and I hope LA's midfield quality thumps NY. THUMPS! In reality, I'm hoping for a draw or win by 1. Regardless, it's a marquee game. Yay! Please have these two teams go out and play some pretty soccer. PLEASE.

Oh, and if Agudelo has a great Gold Cup, I agree with you, in Europe in 2012. If no, and still supersub for Red Bulls this season, I think he'll be in Europe in 2013. He's got time on his side.

I left that last part in there just for you.

just gonna say, first half of ny red bulls vs galaxy and that is about as good a half of soccer as I've ever seen in the mls...

Beckham crosses-brilliant
Donovan should have 3 goals but only 1 has counted
Thierry H with that f'in dribble at full speed down the field where there ball doesnt hit the ground...I don't think I've ever seen that in a game.

And i love that its getting chippy...and not the scrubs...Henry taking out donovan then beckham in about 30 seconds of play.

Right?! Right.

That was awesome. Downright awesome. Best soccer in MLS hands down, great game, great DPs, great atmosphere.

Oh I hope this game got good ratings for MLS, because it deserved it.

Should have ended 2-1 LA, (damn you Tim Ream, and LD, you should have known better), but honestly, for the quality we saw, 1-1 is fine. Richards off the post was just as close.

And yes, LD could (and should) have had a hat trick. He started out slow in the season, but has been ON FIRE the last few games. He not only had multiple shots, but had some sublime passes that again his forwards flubbed. I love Everton, but we were dumb to let this one go.

David Beckham was ON TARGET tonight. And that dribbling sequence from Henry had my jaw flapping open. He was also stellar tonight.

The game flagged 2/3 of the way through, I think everyone played out of their heads for 60 minutes, and then got gassed.

But all in all - MLS has come so far baby.

And if I could make a plea: If this is a sample of what we could see, please god, let the MLS cup be NY vs LA with all players healthy. Cause it was some damn fine soccer & emotion & atmosphere on display tonight, no offense to the other teams in the league (or RSL, who without Morales is now looking dubious).

The best game I have ever seen in the MLS. wow.

LA's passing was once again on and when it is on it is beautiful.

MLS condensed the match into 20 mins and put it on youtube for those who missed it.

The match was excellent, deserved a game winner imo. It calmed down a bit in the second half, if Donovan converts the open net chance, I think we see a much different, and even better second half.

The way LA ended the first half was very impressive.

LA and NY have belief in their abilites, something most other MLS squads lack. And talent, of course.

Please note, Tx Bill, that I've waited 3 days to mention the Toronto FC 2-1 win over Houston Saturday. TFC played better than I've seen them play - ever - and still just managed to hold onto a slim lead against a team exhausted at the end of a long road trip....

...still, we could have lost (and usually would have)...

I can't wait for Part II in August - hope everyone is healthy.

Can I say again how much I hate Carlos Ruiz? He plays just on that edge of dirty that has you holding your breath every time he goes near anyone. LA played him and the Union tonight and gifted them a draw through a horrible Sean Franklin back pass. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! This team cannot put games away right now, likely due to the fact that our frickin' forwards cannot score for the life of them. But LA should have won this game against a team that in general can't make it into the last third with cohesion.

On a positive note, Landon scored again in the run of play - 5 goals in 4 games. Good for the Gold Cup, but bad sign for the Galaxy when he has double the amount of the next goalscorer - who still isn't a forward.

But Union fans, I'm so sorry - your lack of offense and defensive play (basically 9 men behind the ball) make me want to rip my eyeballs out. I hope Le Toux and/or Ruiz breaks out of their funk soon, cause man, it would at least make for prettier soccer that doesn't live in the midfield. Mwanga looks like a beast though.

The Galaxy are going to have severe problems in June with LD and Donovan Ricketts at the Gold Cup. It ain't going to be pretty.

Sigh. After such an exciting NY game, this sucked.

The Galaxy must be taking acting classes out there, I've never seen so many players trip over balls, their feet or the grass. Pretty amazing how every tackle we won seemed to put a Galaxy player on the ground, at least for the first 84 mins.

Ruiz just needs to to sit, no chemistry up front. Williams and Le Toux work better FFS. Thought we had a chance at all three points in the final 5min. 19,178 at PPL last night was impressive. 6 goals in 8 games, not so much.

Come on man - the game got chippy towards the end, those weren't dives - it was chippy. And in general when our players went down they looked genuinely hurt (like Juninho, who was clearly struggling with something towards the end). The Union are a physical team. I don't think the reffing went either way honestly - it was just kinda there. It's the state of MLS these days. But I will say that JPA (the man of the most falling over) can't seem to find his footing to save his life right now - and I don't think those were dives (he's too classy for that), he is just a man that's in a deep funk and can't get his legs to go anywhere. And Bruce Arena is not known as a man that promotes the dive.

I hope Mondragon is okay though - he honestly is great and seems like a *fantastic* leader on the pitch. And I agree with you on your assessment of your forward situation based on the two games I've seen. Ruiz seems like the odd man out. You have to get Mwanga consistently on the pitch though - he livened up the team along with Torres.

Great photo!

EDIT: And no offense meant to your team wscottl - just a frustrated post. :)
