MLS clubs have had a lot of success tapping into the South American market, with many then moving on to bigger leagues in Europe. It’s a good strategy for them given the amount of relatively cheap talent there.

Yeah makes more sense than signing washed up Europeans I guessMLS clubs have had a lot of success tapping into the South American market, with many then moving on to bigger leagues in Europe. It’s a good strategy for them given the amount of relatively cheap talent there.
Still plenty of those in MLS too ?Yeah makes more sense than signing washed up Europeans I guess
Will Benteke be dross in MLS do you think? That's the reason DC is in last place, they waste their money and Designated Player slots on dross like Benteke.
Side note, MLS needs to get over the change kit addiction. Portland has worn their pink and maroon change kit more often than their regular green and gold. And today I'm watching Atlanta play Seattle and they are wearing each other's colors!
Yes, he's been so bad for so long that I think it's too late to get his form backWill Benteke be dross in MLS do you think?
there is no relegation, so there is a emphasis on being rather freewheeling (things only get tight in the playoffs). plus the DPs are all goal scorers.Tons of goals scored in yesterday's games by the look of it. That's one theme I've noticed so far is that a lot of matches tend to become basketball games. Defence is often not on the agenda. That makes it quite entertaining. Also noticed that quality of goalkeeping is not that good. There seems to be at least one big clanger every gameweek
Yeah I was thinking the same. Just a different way of playing the game. Maybe a good thing that it's like that when it's trying to grow its audience. Cagey and defensive football would probably be a turn offthere is no relegation, so there is a emphasis on being rather freewheeling (things only get tight in the playoffs). plus the DPs are all goal scorers.
People want to say MLS compares to say the Championship, or League 1 etc. There is really nothing to compare it too because no club would build a team like an MLS squad.
plus the DPs are all goal scorers.
Guessing the MLS team would get thrashed. Overall talent would be similar, but its just less disciplined football. You can't judge it quality wise vs the top teams in another league because of the way the league is structured. Middle team vs middle team is the fair comparison to make.
So, would a mid level MLS team not compare to a 12th place championship team? I don't know possibly no, but the gap isn't quite as big as some are making out.
