In other developments, or lack thereof, nobody's making a move yet on Machado or Harper. I guess teams are finally starting to get sick of doling out eye-watering contracts over stupidly long terms -- sign someone to a 10-year deal for $300 mill at the age of 28 and you're still paying an average of $30 mill for a 38-year-old. Idiotic. Players will say it's collusion, qu'elle surprise.

Machado may as well just announce that he’s signing with the White Sox. Everyone in the world knows it.

This. We saw it with Arrieta last year. I think of Scott Boras's angst and smile. Not that the owners are any heroes here. Far from it.

Look for another work stoppage within a couple of years. (sigh)

The Seattle Mariners of Seattle are gonna be terrible.

I take comfort in knowing that Dan Meis designed a beatiful ballpark for the M's. Don't think a more perfect design exists for Seattle. Even with the roof on you feel like you're outside because you feel the elements (except the rain).

It's like he immersed himself in the local culture and came up with a plan.

Yeah, it's so weird how the ESPN and other sports media are so pro-player here. It's just nauseating. Sure I mean the billionaire owners aren't angels, but it's simply not good business to sign these players to fully guaranteed 8 and 10 years deals for over $200 million. The list of contracts that were proven to be awful ones from essentially the first pitch number more than we can count.

Time is running out, the excursion is almost full! Call now to reserve your spot.

Seriously though, it sounds like a trip worth going on, if you're that sort of person and have $5k to burn.

And if Jose doesn't kill you and leave your body in the wilderness.

He did A's broadcasts last year or the year before and while everyone else was in suits, he had had a vest and a bat.

What a wild, wild character.

Yup. If I were an owner, I would be nervous giving Harper or Machado a massive contract. I would be concerned with character issues with both

God forbid you're anyone but the Marlins in the NL East, i reckon any of those 4 stand a chance of winning any division this season. Yet here was are, Nats, Mets, Phillies and Braves it what must be the most competitive division this year.
