Judging by what ive seen and heard, apparently our first bid for McCarthy was around £7-8m and some lid has said that Whelan only wants Everton to up their bid by about £2m. Would be happy with James McCarthy for £10m. Get Ince in for £5-7m, then someone else, add that to Barry loan and someone else on loan.

If McCarthy has his heart set on Everton, rather than staying at Wigan or perhaps Newcastle who were linked, then hopefully you're right about our opening bid being £7-8m. If we get £20m+ hard cash plus add-ons for Fellaini then £10m on McCarthy is not so bad. But £15m is a joke.

I wouldn't worry about Beausejour. I think it's obvious a club is in for McManaman and he confirmed Everton are in for McCarthy, dependant on a Fellaini sale. Imagine, Wigan will get £60m for getting relegated and perhaps in excess of £25m for Kone, McManaman and McCarthy. I think they want around £15m for McCarthy and we're trying to haggle them down.

Don't foget the compo for Martinez. Whelan is rubbing his hand together.

The terrifying thing is, I've seen at least one poster on here, Great Dane, suggesting that we SHOULD be spending 10m+ on McCarthy and he would an upgrade on Fellaini.

According to Martinez quotes, he actually agrees.
