Minor things that make you happy

A few of you will know we did our football tour in England a few months ago. One night (Nov 2025) we stayed in Blackburn, watched the Blackburn v QPR game. Worse game of our tour by far. But the hotel we stayed at asked for a 100 pound "deposit". To be repaid within 3 working days. Well, the theiving bar-stewards never did. So I took it up with my bank. They asked for all the usual details and today I got my 100 pounds back. Result.

Leave them a review, and mention you had to get the bank involved to strong arm them.

It's a warning shot across their bow, and it'll be good info for the next poor schlub they try and work over.

I did at the time. I got the usual "oh sorry, please email us at xxxxxx@gmail" , which i did. Then they sent an email asking me to call a number. A usa number ffs. No reply to anything I sent. So I updated my review. Then sat and waited for the bank to do its job, which they did.
But I think ill go back and update my review. Anyway, got my money back and Im not telling Mrs B or she'll spend it on toe nail manicure

Soham double murderer Ian Huntley has been seriously injured in prison, the BBC understands.

Huntley is currently serving a life sentence after he was convicted of murdering schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in August 2002.

Although the Prison Service did not confirm the identity of the injured prisoner, it confirmed an inmate at HMP Frankland in County Durham is receiving treatment.

"It would be inappropriate to comment further while police investigate," a Prison Service spokesperson added

Excellent, horrible 8astard. Hopefully more news to follow.

There has been a steady stream of a certain type of person in british media explaining that the uk is dead and they're off to dubai and saudi and wherever else because the rules and taxes here are not fair to millionaires and billionaires so it's best to join up with 'talent' that has taken flight abroad.

Hasn't karma turned up quick. Enjoy a few nights sleeping on airport floors ladies & gents.

The sun draining into my bedroom this morning as I woke up, the dogs laying on the turf enjoying it. Working out how to AirPlay my music into the kitchen despite having an older Sonos.

Made my day.

I followed the tour on and off, but missed lots, any chance of an Omnibus Edition, covering the good the bad and the ugly?

Just for you....

So we managed to go to 11 games in 22 available days. We saw 34 goals, 4 red cards, 4 Everton game (2 wins , 2 losses), 10 different grounds, 17 teams, and not enough pints of beer drunk.
So that was 5 premier league games, 4 Championship, 1 Div 2 and 1 FA Cup.

Best game was Utd away, tremendous result and great to be with so many fellow blues. Other top games were Coventry 3 West Brom 2, and Salford City thrashing Leyton Orient in the FA Cup.
Worst game by a country mile was Blackburn v QPR.
Ugly - most games we were there as neutrals but non-local accents had locals thinking we were away fans. Nevertheless they were all very welcoming (especially at Blackburn) with the notable exception of Middlesbrough. Very twattish behavior and the only post match violence we saw.
I like to watch a lot of EFL games and its great to see so many games when I can say "ah, Ive been to that ground " or seen that team play.

Tbh I'd do it all again every year if I could.
