I have received my cash refund back from Tui for a cancelled holiday from March.
I haven't had to fight for it like thousands of others have either. I just put my faith in the feeling that I would get it eventually. I do subscribe to the conspiracy theory that if you start shouting and screaming down telephones your case notes go all the way back to the bottom of the heap.

I’ve never shouted and screamed, but if you become a proper pain in the arse and persevere with companies and you’re in the right then you usually get what you want. The key is to be assertive and not aggressive and not swear.

Had to do it with solicitors and car insurance companies over the last couple of years and got everything I was entitled to.

Yes, agree with all you say.
It sounds corny, but a training session with my company convinced me once you explain what you want in a calm collected manner, and suggest what they can do to achieve it, will more than not, give you what you want
