Alfresco lunch, via Philpott's, sitting in the garden at Our Lady's Church, fantastic views of the Liver building.

Nice to see the office workies soaking up the vitamin D on their break.

Went to Hampton Court Palace at the weekend for the first time and was a bit blown away by it.

We got chatting to an older chap who used to work there and offered us a look around in a couple of places that aren’t frequently seen.

An absolutely fascinating place.

Might sound a bit sad but over the past two months or so me and another manager have tried to implement a more ‘holistic’ (not sure that’s the right word) approach to management, organising employee awards of the month with cash rewards amongst other things, and generally trying to listen more to the guys on site and chatting with them when they’re struggling. Seeing the results is very satisfying, lads and lasses working hard but enjoying themselves. They seem to give that extra 5-10%. It’s made me quite proud but I also feel like a tit for writing this at the same time.

Just got the news, Granddaughter has qualified as a dentist. 5 years hard work well worth it in the end! Pleased as punch, might even get some implants on the cheap.lol

just completed the first 3 weeks of classroom stuff toward my HGV course.

now to do the theory, cpc and hazard perception tests in the next couple weeks and onto the truck driving itself.
