minor things that make you fume

When you take the car in for a new clutch & flywheel, pay £700. Then have to take it back the next day coz it's still knackered and they phone you 30 mins later and say the engine's just seized and will be £2200 for a reconditioned one

Ohh it's such a perfect day...:celebrate:
This is the minor things that make you fume thread mate.

It just got a whole lot better too, fella says a RC engine will be £3000 inc VAT & labour. Car's prob only worth about £3.5-4k so if anyone wants a 58 Insignia Elite 2.0 Turbo Diesel (minus the engine!) it's their's!

Shop around, mate. Perhaps find one from a scrapyard.

Also - hell of a coincidence that. How much do you trust your garage?

Have a ring around some car breakers mate. If you give them the vehicle registration and tell them what you want they'll be able to give you a ballpark price and/or keep an eye out for one if they don't have one in stock.

The engine went in my old Fiesta Zetec-S 1.6 so I got one from a breakers and I'm sure with fitting it came to like £600 or something. Cheaper than an Insignia no doubt but I think you should be able to find a much better price than what you've been quoted. Is that price for a brand new engine?

Get over to Birkenhead mate.
A bag of brown, a couple of microwavable frozen pizzas and 4 cans of Skol Super, and you will have an engine by the time we kick off tomorrow night.

These mums, and it is always the mums are totally mental/stupid.
My daughter is going in to year 3 in September, she's 7 and some of the mums are talking about venues for it, 4 years away.
They're the type who must watch love island and update bookface every time they turn over in bed.
They're bringing their kids up to be hollow, glittery empty heads.
Glad to hear your childs school has put good values and sense first instead of the whims of complete oxygen thieves. I will push for the same common sense approach come the time.
United in common sense we stand brother.

You couldn't be more right about it being the Mums.

The "outrage " was mainly about the fact that they'd been denied their " right " to dress their eleven year old daughters up like the poor girls in My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

Some of them had even arranged " prom dates " for some poor lad who knew nothing about it.

I should've put a counter complaint in that my lad had been denied his " right " to get stuck into a load of " grabbing " at the prom lol

Just let them be kids for as long as they can FFS, the adult world and all the crap that goes with it, will catch up with them soon enough.

Aren't proms an American import ?

Sorry for the late reply mate, but I've been on a " forum holiday " for a few days.

You're right it is an American import.

Unfortunately over the past few years it's spread from senior schools downwards through all the age groups, due to the Facebook generation of brain dead " look at me " parents.

The net result is that you have eleven year old girls dressing like hookers, with hair do's like Dolly Parton and eleven year old lads looking like they're going for a night on the town.

Should be banned by law for junior school kids.

Where did you go, RAWK?

Have you got it sorted ?

Those quotes are utter nonsense.

An Insignia is a common fleet car, so the scrappys will be full of them.

There's a national chain of breakers yards called - Motor Hog.

Have a look on there. It's not a big job putting a new engine in with the right gear either and there's loads of independent Vauxhall garages knocking around that'll be able to do it.

I agree mate, doesn't sound enjoyable for kids that age. The parents should get their reflected amusement somewhere else. Lol at those that actually rent limousines, there are better and probably more educational ways to spend money on your children.
