minor things that make you fume

Not a minor fume, a major one
Hired a car from Sixt for a week in Corsica. Got back to find they had debited my credit card for another £750 for 'excess mileage'
I was driving a VW, as stated on my rental agreement, the excess miles were on a Peugeot
I have spend the past three days shouting at French people down the phone. Apparently I will have to wait a week before they can look into my complaint. Is this some kind of scam?
Hope you have informed your credit card company? Should also tell Sixt you intent to open a charge back against them (maybe check their website for dispute resolution timescales, although given it’s complexly the wrong vehicle the CC company may treat it as fraud.

Just been on to credit card company and they will reimburse me while they put in the dispute claim, so hopefully will be resolved.
Sixt offered me 50 per cent repayment - but 'couldn't do' full 100 per cent. CC company said this is another common scam tactic, so they can then say an agreement was reached when the bank claims against them.
Cheers for everyone's advice.
Avoid SIXT like the plague
