This may of already been said but footballers who place the ball right on the edge of the line when taking a corner so the ref has to run over and check. Why!!, why has this just started after decades of players putting the ball inside. Why do these weapons have to try and pinch about an inch. Does it really make a difference.

I suppose if you think the grass is flattened a bit by the line painting machine, then placing the ball on the outer edge means you can get under the ball a little more and get more lift on it.

Of course, this didn't exactly help Milner the other night...
