Fireworks going off by me, unbelievably loud, why do they have to be so loud?

Did you ever stand near someone firing a shotgun? Frightened the life out of me first time.

Fireworks contain gunpowder and have three explosions - initial one starts the second which sends a charged piece into the air and the third explodes at height sending the coloured sparks descending.

I left school when I was 15 and the first thing I bought was a double barrel 12 bore shotgun.
Can hardly believe it now,but it’s true,all my mates had one as well.
