mrs degsy just spent $350 on a new matching kettle and toaster. This was to replace the $70 ALDI matching set, tbh, they were a bit 'old' and you had to press 1 of the levers on the toaster down a few times before it stuck and I wasn't a big fan of the lid on the kettle.
The new kettle has the same lid and they do look a little bit better...but not 5 times better

That was the mid range one, didn't even look at the smeg ones...everything in Australia still to this day, carries an historic - when every thing came from England...you're on the other side of the world mate, bound to cost more, transport costs innit etc.
