I did just that yesterday, went from iPhone 5 to Sony Experia Z3 Compact because the iPhone 6 is so overpriced. Feels good...for now.

I plugged this new phone in yesterday and a piece of software came up that transferred the songs I wanted from iTunes to this new one no problem, including purchased music from iTunes. So will still use iTunes on my laptop.
