On a personal level I obviously wish him well if he is indeed just ill and not dead

From a footballing perspective, if this is the end of him being involved in the sport then that's a good thing as he's played a huge part in the ruination of the game

I hope he recovers and decides to retire to an island or something to live out his days, with no one ever reaching his level of power or influence in the game ever again
