Mina vs zouma

A couple of people have captured the key thing already.

Develop the player who’s ours.

Mina and Keane going forward, let them develop a partnership.

Did notice Mina doing some organising at set pieces at both ends. Seems to be part of his game.

My only worry is that we do need Zouma for his pace. Against morata is totally different that against vardy, say. Would mina and Keane be a good partnership v him? Not for me.

Point taken, but not sure Zouma is mega-fast either. Seen him get done for pace a couple of times this year. Vardy is skinning Zouma all day long.

I’d be “happy” to see us drop a few points this season while Keane /Mina get a partnership going, and learn each other’s game, rather than having to get a new defensive partnership acclimatised next season.

Really difficult to say, but it's a great problem to have. Neither Keane or Zouma deserved to be dropped on current form but that was as flawless a debut you can realistically expect from a new player playing his first game in a new country, with new players and coming off an injury. All things considered, Mina was exceptional.

Having 3 centre backs in this kind of form and of a good age does not bode well for Holgate's prospects with us though. As talented as he is, he absolutely had to take his chances early in the season when Keane and Mina were injured and Jags was suspended. He didn't and now its very difficult to see where his minutes are going to come from. Sad really but that's football.

Mina and Keane are probably the better ball players and can help support our attack best, especially with Mina looking dangerous on set pieces. Again, Keane has more pace than most CBs, that's not as important as other things. Think you gotta go with the permanent players and see if they gel.

Screw you. The Keane / Mina double act is the way forward. You’re an idiot for saying otherwise and know nothing about footy.

I’ve been drinking whisky on a Sunday evening. Happy day
Keanes not exotic enough for Marcos sexy blues
