Thought there might be a bit more action on Twitter, guess the ****e weather isn't helping matters!

Was at the game today. Was very scrappy and what you would expect from U15's. Number 4 looks a real neat and tidy player though, was impressed. Goal was taken well by number 11.

Don't suppose you've any idea what numbers lined up where? :D

I'll have to rely on highlights to get player positions!

Match report from today:

Swindon vs Everton (0-1)

Junior Section

Anderson Park, Coleraine 3.30pm kick off, Monday 29th July

Everton edged out Swindon in a tightly contested game in which both teams were strong and tough to break down, employing similar tactics.

Swindon started the brighter, going close early on. Swindon were very disciplined in defence playing a high line which Everton struggled to break through. There was little space for either team, with much of the contest taking place in the middle of the park.

Swindon had flooded the midfield with their 4-5-1 formation.

However, somewhat against the run of play, Everton took the lead on the stroke of half time through Ryan Harrington. Jack Bainbridge worked well down the right hand side before whipping in a low cross along the 6 yard area. The initial shot was well saved by Swindon keeper Connor Johns, but Harrington was first to the rebound and poked home.

Everton enjoyed more of the play in the second half, Johns saving excellently again for Swindon, this time from a free kick. Swindon striker Jack Richardson was becoming increasingly isolated up front on his own, so it was of little surprise when they made a change and switched to a 4-4-2. Swindon were pushing for an equaliser, Tyreke Johnson working well on the left wing. They came close when Aiden Compton was unfortunate to hit the post once he'd beaten the Everton goalkeeper.

In the end, Everton held on to win the opener 1-0. Swindon may feel hard done by with the result, a draw may have better reflected the game in which Swindon enjoyed more possession but Everton created more chances.

Players to watch
• Connor Johns (Swindon). Swindon's goalkeeper was in outstanding form making a series of impressive saves. He was very vocal in ensuring that the defence remained disciplined and organised.
• Ryan Harrington (Everton). The attacking midfielder/striker created some good chances for himself and showed good movement for taking his goal. However he may be disappointed that he didn't take more of his chances

Wasn't Harrington who scored for Everton, the guy probably has his numbers mixed up!

Was definitely number 11 Nathan Holland. I didn't catch all, unfortunately. I believe 1-11 may have started though, not 100% sure.

I'll try get a full selection next game.
