Very gracious words from Mikel. Confirms what we know about our club, THE BEST.(y)

On the other side I can heaven forbid see this injury as the death knell of his career. I honestly think he will not play again until near the end of the season say late March/April.

What a player, what a man. Exactly what the club needs right now, someone to come out and say something like that. let's hope mr. rodwell is listening.

just watched that freekick goal against hull again, that play was brilliant, pienaar and fellaini ran out of the wall right as arteta struck it, it was perfectly timed and the team was perfectly in sync, thats the sort of play we're really missing.

we all knew arteta is a brilliant playmaker and a skilled player, but i think we often overlook his leadership on the field and the effect he seems to have on team unity.

Mikel Arteta has revealed how the special atmosphere at Everton has made him determined to return from injury a better player than ever.
The Spaniard has been out of action for almost 10 months with cruciate ligament damage, and recently suffered a set back that will sideline him well into the New Year.
But Arteta has refused to become disillusioned, and he believes the help and support of his club will allow him to come back better and stronger, as he enters a new phase in his career.
"When you are away and you look at things - not just as a professional, as a footballer, but as a person - you see how good the people are around you," he explained.

"It is not easy to find that in football. I have been in other football clubs and I'm telling you this is a special one. People say we are a family - we really are. We really are different and we really do things differently from other clubs.
"We have such good people here, and as a person I am telling you that's very good. And I think because of that there is a lot more to come from me."

Mikel Arteta: I'm going to come back even better for 'special' Everton - MirrorFootball.co.uk

Which atmosphere is he talking about here?
In the dressing room etc, or at the ground? I ask only as Goodison is fastly gaining a reputation as being a bit of a ' 90 minutes silence ' ground.

The atmosphere at Goodison is in terminal decline . Its easily the worst its EVER been in my humble opinion . Having to listening to cringeworthy chants from the likes of Villa about how bad it is really is gets on nerves . You can here a pin drop for nigh on 90 minutes and that without doubt transfers itself to the players . The last throughly decent atmosphere was against the RS in Jan . Other than that its few and very fair between . Even aways are crap nowadays though admittedly last wek against West Ham was pretty decent . I think the days of old at Goodison are gone forever atmosphere wise .

Just need a couple of good wins to wake them up. Do0 not be so negative, it has been a tough season so far for all concerned.

Back to Mikel, no date but keep your fingers crossed it will be sooner rather than later.
