Player Valuation: £70m
He's getting linked with all sorts of management positions including ours and Arsenal's. He's only been coaching since he signed on as an assistant coach to Pep Guardiola in 2016. At the time it was widely believed he was brought on to offer Guardiola some insights into the workings of the Premier League as he had only just retired the year before.

How did Arteta develop such a name for himself to be linked with jobs of this level when he has zero management experience outside of being a coach at City?

Have I missed something? I've been seeing his name in the papers more these days than I ever did when he was playing for Arsenal or us.

Can someone explain how he is not just Ryan Giggs mk2? He seems to be getting a lot more respect off of the press and as far as I can tell neither of them has achieved too much as a coach before being linked with big jobs.

Would you feel happy if he walked into the Everton job after 2 years of laying out Guardiola's cones?

No J, I'd be very much against it.

It's because neither the media or chairmen really have a clue what makes a good manager so they usually go for names.
Some people genuinely believe he is nailed on for the Arsenal post apparently.

I can't for the life of me see what he's achieved so far that would convince any top team to give him the top job after 2 years as an assistant coach (not even assistant manager is he?)

How out of all the managers in world football is he favourite for the Arsenal job with the bookies...makes you wonder.... And Big Dunc is 50/1 to be our next manager.

It's like that time the well known libero Davide Unsworthio was touted for the top job with us.

If they're Spanish or Portuguese and they want to be a manager, then by definition they will be good managers because they're not english.

At least that's how the media see it, based on the fact that they've had a good few years over there nationally.

Positive racism!

Might be wrong but when they cheated the shoite in the champs league and pep got sent off didn't arteta take over on the sidelines. If so that's second in command, I've blocked that dreadful night from my mind so I could be wrong. ;)
