Jaffas! Biscuit or cake?

HMRC lost the case against McVitie's , so they are a cake by law.
The decision that Jaffa's are cakes was based on what happens when they go stale -biscuits go soft, cakes go hard.
A resounding result for all Jaffa cake afficionado's who were faced with a 17.5% increase in price if HMRC had prevailed.
A true fore-runner of the pasty tax debacle.

One of my former colleagues at Grant Thornton in Liverpool actually won this case - against HMRC and all the odds and most people's opinion at the time.
