Mick Meagan RIP 2nd left with his 1963 colleagues at Goodison Park in 2013 -

Integral in the rise of Everton under Catterick. I started watching in 1963 and was aware of him being a part of teams prior to that.
As you say, a few good lads gone recently.
RIP.
You started at about the same time as me, I started going in 62, Mick was certainly vital to the Johnny Carey team, but, I think Catterick had his heart set on Ray Wilson from the day he joined us. Mind you Mick was versatile and could play in other positions.
