2025/26 Michael Vincent Keane

From reading this thread it's clearly Michael Keane's fault we didn't win today - whenever he plays he makes all our players perform badly, and as such it's reasonable to suggest Dewsbury-Hall would have slotted at least two of those sitters he missed.

Only in the team coz he's Dyche's favourite anyway so hopefully when Dyche isn't manager we'll see the back of him.

Keane is or should be the 4th choice centre back. He has largely outperformed his usual level for the most part of the season. However, as he has started to play too many games his overall performance is starting to average out to the mean hence why he has now had several shockers on the spin. No issue with him being 4th choice centre back...the problem is he has played too many games as he is seen as the 3rd choice centre back because O'Brien is deemed to be 1st choice right back when he should be 3rd choice centre back.

Shouldn't have been here this season. Yes he's a great professional and seemingly has a job at Everton for life, but we had O'Brien, Branthwaite and Tarkowski, and clearly had money to spend last summer.

In typical Everton fashion he's played all season and now gets a further year. The manager still hasn't realised that he can't partner Tarkowski otherwise we have the slowest partnership in the division that drags Tarkowski down several levels.

Oh well. Sentimentality FC.

Are you saying it’s pure coincidence that everything turned to sh*te literally the moment Jarad Branthwaite got stretchered off?

Sh1te clearance for the first goal when assisting Sarr and Mateta was his man not Tarkowski's when he equalised. Shocker.

I'm still not sure how he thinks he could pass Mateta onto Tarkowski in the space of 2 seconds and expect him to suddenly move over and mark his man.

The errors from Tarkowski and Keane are racking up at an alarming rate as we see out the end of the season.

I just don't fathom the logic Moyes specifically applies for Keane , where if he commits error after error he's absolved from responsibility and has a place waiting for him along as Branthwaite is not fit. If he was a younger player like Alcaraz committed those missteps he'd be reduced to a minute cameo instead of his usual four minutes. You can say we have no other Cbs but O'Brien needs to be a part of the central two and another player needs to be featured at right back whether it's Patterson, Rohl or even Garner at this stage

He shouldn't be playing this much and wouldn't if the manager had treated the RB spot with a bit of urgency.
