I think he's been our best defender this season, in a team that only Man City and Arsenal have kept more clean sheets.

We've conceded 27 in 24 games, and when you think 11 of those come in collapses in 3 games Newcastle 4, Brentford 4, Spurs 3.

Only 4 teams have conceded less goals than us.

Obviously Branthwaite is loads better, and O'Brien looks like he'd be brilliant centre half, but just because Branthwaite is back, we don't have to start pilling in on Keane.

When we have full backs, we'll see Branthwaite and O'Brien at centre half IMO.

We have conceded 1 in 4 without him on the flip to that. I was all for keeping him as a 4th choice. But with players back and improved performance during his suspension, it was the perfect time to have him back as 4th choice.

Branthwaite is fit and should be starting whether we have full backs or not.

I don’t blame him for being forced back into the squad. But we do look much more nervy and sit 5-10 yards deeper when he plays.

Because Tarkowski miraculously only plays terribly when he's paired with Keane.

Long history of this happening to literally every player Keane has ever been partnered with at Everton.

So Tarkowski should be dropped for playing terribly then instead of blaming it on other players.

Yeah I agree, we've got enough midfielders fit to allow Garner to move to RB now so I'd like to see that pairing at CB, could be the bedrock of our team for years to come so the sooner we start seeing it the better. Moyes won't think so though.

He looks marginally less crap when he's got legs around him I agree. That's not Keane's failing though, it's Tarkowski's.
