There's definitely a case to be made for bringing him on up front if we are chasing a game late on
No joke. I would have tried it in one of the cup games. Dyche has already slammed the door on that idea though. It is great when you have a CB that can do that. It is essentially another attacker on the field. The defense just needs to come with it, and unfortunately he cannot be consistent throughout his career.

Makes many less rash decisions than Tarkowski. The difference is Keane often seems to get punished for them in spectacular fashion whereas Tarkowski gets lucky thus rarely making the highlight reel.

Thing is though that Branthwaite and Tarkowski worked consistently well as a partnership.
I think Tarkowski's rash decisions are generally aggressive whereas Keane's tend to be more passive. So Tarkowski gets away with more. Still, an interesting decision for Dyche if Branthwaite is fit for Fulham.

I was fairly impressed with his snide yellow (25th minute?) breaking up a promising attack before it got into the box. Not been enough of that from the team as a whole this season - far too many players allowed to just run with the ball.

Yes, good shout. When it happened was a bit nervous for him for the rest of the match but actually wasn't an issue and a 'good foul' to make.

Could that shrieking, grinding, bone-shaking noise possibly be the sound of minds and opinions changing?

(I'm not trying to be smartarsed, by the way, because I've never defended him, and although my opinion of the guy wasn't as vitriolic as some, I was firmly in the 'drop him' camp.)
He defends certain situations well. Others not so. The better teams playing quick around the box leaves him spinning and the yellow card today shows how weak he is one on one… Branthwaite still needs to come in.

Stick him up top with DCL though, absolutely. He’s way more of a goal threat than Beto.
