Something else to consider is what if Keane has an injury like what Jags suffered between now and the summer.

That would leave Burnley with a player who is no longer as desirable and teams would look elsewhere.

Football careers are short and with all due respect Burnley are tiny in comparison to Everton.
Burnley are also as good as safe this season too.

I am still hopeful this deal can be done today, if Koeman wants it.

Jags was stupidly quick pre injury, and his ability to get back for a last ditch tackle was superhuman

he was the legs and lescott was the finesse and the presence in the air (I remember the game against Newcastle everything that came into our half in the air he returned with interest)

they were as good a 'partnership' as anyone ever, not two of the single best defenders, but so good together, hence not reaching them heights since
