Get well soon.
Wanted him booted as far away from Everton as possible after last season but credit where it’s due he’s been good this season.

I think watching him live after last season is difficult because I worry every time he’s near the ball but the truth is he’s done very little wrong this season so far.

its amazing what a decent partner and a competent coach can do for players

I think like you once you’ve suffered a tbi you have something of a better understand of possible implications. As I said above it doesn’t mean Keane will particularly suffer any of them and you’d want to know if he’s had previous injuries or concussions but it’s not unusual in some cases for it to have a psychological effect , especially given the nature of his position on the field .

The main things are he seems positive in the tweet , he’ll have had and will continue to have top quality medical care and I’m sure be given the requisite time and support he needs . Let’s hope it heals as quickly as such injuries can and has as little impact as they also can have and all being well he’s back in full training as quickly as Joyce suggests .
Im sure I've read that he's had a really bad concussion in the past, need to take their time with his recovery can't be too careful with head injuries

Michael Keane has sustained a small hairline fracture of the skull but suffered no other complications following a clash of heads in the game against Bournemouth.

Likely to be back in training in 3 to 4 weeks, although they'll be careful so i suspect maybe match ready in around 6 weeks

(Paul Joyce tweet, for the 3 to 4 weeks estimate)

Can't see anyway he's match ready in 6 weeks with that injury

He's s tough kid. But that has to be a big issue for him now going for crosses. He's only human.

Maybe wear one of those Cech head-supports?

Burnley defender Michael Keane has revealed he believed it was 1996 and had "no memory" of the previous week after suffering from concussion.

Keane, 23, initially continued playing after a clash of heads during the 2-0 win over Rotherham on 20 February. But he was substituted on 32 minutes and missed the next two matches, returning on 5 March against Blackburn.

"I felt alright to go on but I went down from a set play and said to the physio I couldn't see," Keane said.In November 2015, the Football Association released new guidelines that stated "anyone with a suspected concussion must be immediately removed from play".

Keane added that it took him a while to get back to feeling "normal" following his injury.

"At first I was just really dizzy all the time and had no memory of the past week, really," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"The doctor asked me what year it was and I thought it was 1996. I was all over the place.

"I got treated really well at the hospital, had a few scans and then had to take my time to get back to normal and thankfully now I am alright.

"Looking back, [substituting me] was definitely the right thing to do.

"They have to be extra cautious when it comes to head injuries and rightly so because you can get massive injuries to your brain."

Yes a decent example is cricketer Stuart Broad who suffered a serious head blow, despite a batting helmet when he was hit by a quick bouncer on the helmet while attempting to hook it.

Although the injury shook him up, psychologically he has never recovered, and he seems physically scared of any short pitched stuff despite the helmet, his batting ability is now negligible although he used to even be considered as a potential allrounder who could bat and bowl.

The psychological effects can be very long lasting.

Could have been much worse.

We have started the season with our normal 'everton that' i see.

best wishes Keane. Hope he comes back fighting fit and confident as he started the season very well.

He's been a bit of a snowflake mentally already too, so you're probably right.

Will be interesting to see but on the plus side he's coming from so low a starting point in terms of fan opinion of him that even if he's just acceptable in the future then it'll be seen as an improvement.

A month before he starts training again then it will be another while before he gets his confidence back to go in full throttle for headed challenges. Not a good scenario for a central defender to have to face. He may be out for a couple of months at least.

It is funny the way things have worked out as there no doubt now that Mina and Zouma will soon be the first choice CB partnership and Keane may have a job on his hands getting back in. Hopefully he will make a full recovery with no mental scars.
