I had a family member in the Police, who had quite a few dealings with Branch, which were never reported to the club or became public prior to him leaving us to go to Wolves. One particular event involved a stabbing at his house off Riverside Drive during a party gone wrong.
I`m not claiming to be an ITK, but from what was told to me at the time, his biggest problem was the fact that he kept his old mates from the Dingle ( wronguns ) and they just took the piss out of him, living it up at his expense. Hence why he got involved in drugs once he`d finished footy, as his money had all been spent.
By all accounts he`s a very quiet, decent lad, who was just too weak to get rid of all the scally hangers on when the money was good.
