Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

It is mate, she's not a party girl normally but she was out last night
Spot on with the dedication bit, she is very much in the zone and is like a mad professor when talking about her subjects.
Deep down it is what every parent hopes for ,bright and happy with a touch of sensibility .Well done that lady. The thing with vets is that almost all don't get accepted first or even second time ,my personal reason for that is that due to the amount wanting it they want to see who really wants it ,who is prepared to try again and again.
My ex-niece ( is that correct ?) went for an interview to do an expedition to Mount Kilimajaro they were told to be prompt and were left to wait without being seen for many hours ,so many that most left and when there were just the right amount left out came the team to congratulate them.

As you know Jazz I'm generally in support of the Monarchy albeit I fully respect and understand those that aren't. But even I'm already sick of the media coverage and I've only been watching it for about 2 hours.

On the boat I tended to watch SSN, but even on that I swear every single person interviewed, whether British or not, was asked for their views on the Queen. Crazy.

As for the lying in state queues, personally I don't get it and wouldn't think of going myself. Cal was a bigger royal supporter than me but I know for certain it wouldn't enter her head either.

But I do feel strongly that it's down to personal choice and I don't think we should be judging people who want to queue for hours any more than we should judge people who don't. That's one of the things I dislike most about this forum, and one of the reasons this thread in particular is such a haven. The inability to accept or respect views that differ from your own.
Your are right Fred I have queued for hours in the rain for tickets to watch the blues and then we got beaten .

Wait for 5 o'clock on Friday .... oh that's today ....G&T time Fred?
Damn. No lemons Jazz. Just been the shop too. TBH I'm a bit G&T'd out mate.

What I have decided to do is have a Margarita night. It was Cal's cocktail of choice for the posh nights, but they couldn't or wouldn't do them on this cruise for some reason.

My margaritas are lethal though so I need to leave that for when I have at least a couple of days to recover. ?

The funniest one i've seen in their desperation to shoehorn the Queen into every newstory was a report on North West news ( and this was the lead item ) on a woman who had travelled from Manchester to Edinburgh to queue to see the Queen lying in state.

Honestly you couldn't make this up.

Is there nothing else happening in Britain and the World?

And the line that "operations and funerals will be cancelled on Monday as a mark of respect for the Queen " what about respect for those that have waited months perhaps years for those operations and those families that have to postpone their plans and goodbye to their loved ones. Respect works two ways

I'm all for dignity and paying respect but this period of mourning and national flagelation has gone on far too long.
Perhaps some might die without the operations .

Popped down to the local shop this morning for a pasty, a bottle of wine, and some posh sausages to see me through the weekend. The food on the boat was pretty good, but I've missed my pasties. Ate loads of fish on the boat Jazz. I had whole sole, which I don't normally have because of the bones, but was surprised at how easily the flesh came away from the bone. By the time I had finished it looked like one of the fish skeletons you always saw on Top Cat. lol I also had sole fillets, plaice, sea bass, bream, brill, skate, squid, salmon, trout and something that had a weird name like miou miou. Plus I had lots of different shellfish, including lobster that I was previously allergic to but am apparently no more. You'd have been proud of me mate. I even tried barbecued local sardines when I went to my friends brothers. They tasted delicious but the bones just put me off.

My first wash is hanging up n the washing line (another beautiful day down here, apparently it rained all the time we were away) and the second is in the machine. I'm feeling quite organised and chuffed with myself.

I honestly don't think that would happen Blue. If it did, it would be completely unforgivable and would be against everything the Queen stood for.

I suspect she's already doing cartwheels in her coffin at the amount of fuss being made of it all.
It wasn't directed at her it was the fact that they deem it worthwhile to postpone the operations ne'er theless it must be a possibility .
I do think she has been given too hard a time by the ne'er do wells although I dislikethe monarchy and all their kin I actually felt sorry for Elizabeth as she was to a great extent shaghai'd into it . I watched countryfile a couple of days ago and it was showing that all she really wanted was to be in the Highlands .

I didn't think you were having a go at the queen mate. i was just commenting on the fact that I think that she herself would be pretty bemused at all the fuss being made.
