Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good afternoon all. I'm still feeling the buzz from yesterday, I know we didn't win but we played so well - best I've watched for ages. It gives me hope. Then I watched Maupay's little message on Instagram and the French accent was a joy. Filled a Digne sized hole in my life.

Your hols look fab @Barnfred 55 I think two of my friends are on your cruise. They keep posting pics of the same places that you are. If you come across Kevin, a gay Welsh man who is holidaying with his life long friend Mary say hi to them lol Kevin is coming on the cruise with us in a few weeks. @Billy Dean I hope you find a dog you can borrow for walks.

Did overtime this morning. That's 42 hours so far in the pay roll period. The cut off date is after next weekend so if I can squeeze another 12 hours in that will be 54 hours done- all on the end of Septembers pay. Holiday spends sorted. The weekend after that we are in Liverpool, my niece and her boyfriend are visiting from Australia. I'm going to the evening of a wedding on Thursday ( the lass whose hen do I went on last month). I still haven't got anything to wear. This is not good. I can see me leaving it until the last minute when I'm off on Wednesday.

Not much planned this week although we are having a Monday night roast dinner tomorrow. (sorry veggie friends!) Was going to do one today but logistics aka daughters social life did not allow it and she really wanted one! I'm just too soft.

I can't say I'm overly excited by the forthcoming leadership results. Rock and a hard place springs to mind. If I had to pick I think I would go for Sunak.

Enjoy your Sunday folks.

Enjoy. Love a roast dinner just without the meat!
Veggie cottage pie with carrots and green beans for me.

Can you mention me in one of your story please xx

Well done @Barnfred 55 although a miss on the speedo pic will be forgiven at least by me . @Billy Dean I hope they respond to your request as they would foolish not to ,all the dogs would love a walk with someone caring enough to ask ,don't forget the snacks as then they will remember you but ask first as you don't want to cross the line . Good luck and of course photos .

lol

Up at Mums earlier, and she dug out a pile of my school reports as she completes getting ready to move. Blimey, they bring back memories, and some are quite funny/on the button.

But this summary from the year head made me smile. I must have still had a Liverpool accent. (3rd year of secondary school)

"These reports are full of promise; I wonder if Mark can reach his potential? All that is required is steady application to back up his native wit!"

If I see a likely candidate I'll ask if he knows Anjelica Ferret. He'll probably look at me like I've got 2 heads like.

Love that. My 3rd year senior school PE report said 'Rather dizzy. All arms and legs' My co-ordination has never improved lol

There are some gems.

July 1974, 2nd year of Junior school.

General Comment. "Mark can spoil himself occasionally by being a bit "silly". Conversely he also exhibits an amazingly mature perception"

Note from me House Head when I left to enter 6th Form.

"Mark, thanks for your support in the House in sport. We will miss your "noticeable" presence. Good luck in the 6th"

Class. And are you still mature but silly? It's not a bad combination! ? ?

Kevin is 67. He met Mary when he was a newly qualified teacher in his first job. She took him under her wing and they were friends from then. She's now 83. Real party animal, wears bikinis, totally amazing woman.

Oh my.

June 1980, (4th year secondary).

I was hopeless at chemistry, just never joined it all up.

I think the teacher noticed!

"Mark works keenly at experimental exercises but does not always have a clear understanding of what is being done"

He was a man of the cloth, so was being kind. Anyone else would have been.

Chemistry.

"WTAF is he doing here?"
