Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi I'm @messymascot aka Karl. I was diagnosed with a cancer called mesothelioma in 2019 after nearly 10 years of illness. Unfortunately this is an incurable type of cancer which is caused by asbestos exposure. I'm now entering the final stages as the cancer has grown and is starting to cause complications. Anyone who regularly visits the mental illness and depression thread is probably aware of parts of this story.

Anyways onto the thread title. Several members who visit the above thread, which I can't endorse highly enough both the thread and the regular visitors, wanted to get together and get me a ticket for the match. This was very much appreciated by me but initially I wasn't sure due to my health. However in the meantime @Earwigjoe contacted the club. They then kindly offered to supply 2 complimentary tickets. The 2 tickets were confirmed with myself today and one of my fellow West Cumbrian blues has agreed to travel with me and utilise the other. I will try to remember to take some photos and post them in here but I'm not the best at that sort of thing.

I want to use this thread to highlight what a truly great club we support as it would have been easy for them just to let the lads and lasses pay for the tickets. But I especially want to thank all the people who regularly post in the mental illness thread as they are truly magnificent. I first starting using the thread 3 or 4 years ago when I was going through a tough patch but since then I have been in the thread on a regular basis and there is always someone in there who wants to support another blue who has fallen on hard times. The clubs gesture and the fans in that thread and this forum are what make me proud to be an Evertonian. I love you all even the ones I don't always agree with. COYB The best team we could ever support. I'm glad I was chosen even though being 40 I don't remember the glory days of the 80s.

Sorry if that went on a bit but I needed to get it off my chest.

This still creases me up…….

Just back from our day at the seaside with a lovely crescent moon low in the sky on the journey home. Had a brillIant if slightly expensive day, still it’s their inheritance lol . Went to the fair and the three eldest decided to go on a ride but Jessica wasn’t tall enough, she sobbed and was only pacified by Nanny volunteering to go on the ghost train with her, which the rest of the family thought was hilarious as I haven’t been on a fairground ride for years. Jessica’s only five so I was a bit worried she might not like it, not a bit of it she loved it and wanted to go round again as for me I’ve not laughed so much in years.
aaaw I love this. ? Well done Nanny x

Morning all, pinch punch first day of the month. Cloudless sky here. News of the ASLEF strike on 15th is a bit of a downer, that is the day we are due to travel back from Edinburgh. I’m beginning to think I’m destined not to visit Scotland as the last time we had a holiday booked there I was suffering from “morning” sickness, (misnamed as it went on all day) and had to cancel. I knew when I booked that strikes were a possibility so I’m not entirely surprised. Son is trying to change tickets so we travel back on the 14th instead, if he can’t we’ll cancel and put it down to experience. Have grandkids 1 and 2 coming today as Dad at work and Mum has to go into school to get her classroom prepared for next week. Think today will mainly be spent trying to prise them away from laptop and iPad! Have a good day all.?

Dogs can have allergies and one of the most obvious signs is scratching ,give her what is left of her food that she likes and as little as possible of the one affecting her . I wish I was near and could help .
Cheers B, She'll have to have Nood until tuesday when the shopping comes but I will change it immediately. Hopefully it will help.

Morning guys. I just watched a bin man, tip a bin into another bin, rubbish went all over, we have a problem with rubbish here and the bin men are the worse for it, every bin day, the streets are even more filthy than normal and no wonder if they're doing stuff like that, beggars belief.

Hopefully get a couple more signings today, I'm happy with the business we have done, some very smart signings and I think we'll be fine. Watched ssn this morning and it was nearly exclusively Chelsea and Utd, not biased at all are they. I wonder if Utd may rue bringing in all these Dutch league players, they've been struggling in our league recently.

Have a jolly day peeps.
