Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

In Finland by law you must have all the flues done or your insurance in invalid .I hope the lad was wearing proper clothes .Our first sweep ( that I knew ) withered away with a lung desease and died way before his time .
As tempting as it might be don't burn any glued wood or obviouslt plastics as they stick to the inside of the flue and are nigh impossible to move .
Next step is to break into the flue half way up install as smoke door and rack and slow smoke your meat and fish ,I saw it in Germany and have always fancied one .Oh no not another project !

Yeah, that was all explained to me. I had no idea!

Morning all,
Good morning all on this once again sunny but cool day .I hope all had a great night and have an even better day .
When we went picking on Sunday with a neighbour he had an old "picker " and it was handmade so I have to make one ,it has prongs that are from spokes so off to get some .
My problem is that whilst thinking about this I realised that if I find a wheel then I can make a weathervane from the spindle !
This in a way sadly is my life . I really would like to sit and read but my mind must have something to plan and my hands something to make .I know some think it good but the constant doing ,fixing and repairing sees me up early and lying awake when I am in bed :-View attachment 176803
Mr G. also suffers from inability to sit still and finds things to do, currently he’s vacuuming whilst waiting for the taxi to the station. Good job our neighbours have left for work! Look forward to seeing the weather vane.

Get yourself a kayak. This was off the Cornish Coast. Fowey @Barnfred 55

Amazing creatures. There’s something genuinely mysterious about them.
Especially when you see footage of those gigantic ones breaching the surface covered in barnacles and that.

I was chuffed to bits just to see some seals basking int he shallows off the coast of Llandudno last year, Can’t imagine seeing a whale up close!

Yeah. Apparently it's very rare to be attacked by a blue shark. They were actually swimming with them and they've been organising snorkeling trips for years with no issues. She wasn't badly injured apparently and she herself said she'd do it again.
Sharks are definitely my thing and I am glued to the nature documentaries. Having said that I would draw a line at swimming with them.

Orca’s are fairly often seen in Irish waters are I find that mind blowing. Having seen them up close, albeit in captivity, it’s in nerving that something that big is patrolling out there.

I think it's fair to say AT nobody is going swimming with Orcas. Mind you though, fair play to those that take the plunge with blue sharks. 10 feet is pretty standard for them so they aren't exactly koi carp?

Plus St Ives has been invaded by the USA small stinging crabs close in go for a paddle at your peril on the TV only small, but nasty sting on them ....
Caught the end if something on the local news last night Joey. Sure they said not to be too worried about them. The sting is not poisonous to Humans and their pincers are only small so wouldn't even break skin in most cases.

Also they are spider crabs, native to Cornwall. In fact they market them as Cornish King Crab down here and have become very popular. My neighbours tell me the meat is much sweeter but hard to get at as the legs are so spindly.

Enterprising locals have been going down to the beaches with buckets of water. The local fishermen are not happy.?
