Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

So, woke up this morning feeling absolutely crap. Thrombing headache , no energy and generally listless. Actually this had nothing to do with Rosie sleeping on my head and neck all night!

Yes I know what you're thinking ....its covid.

Well actually no. Yesterday I moved and spread about 3 tons of bark chipping as a mulch and weed suppressant in the Arboretum.

It's heavy work but stupidly I did it without a mask and the chippings host horrible spores which get on your chest and makes you feel generally yuk. Yes @blue1948 totally my own fault and a schoolboy error in failing to assess and mitigate the risk.

Still on the upside I've got a great excuse for sitting in the Orangery and this afternoon in the sun reading.

Have a lovely day peeps.

Be still my fluttering heart ….. one month ago my ancient Spanish dishwasher vomited it’s contents over my kitchen floor …. I was away and lovely Gina my cleaning lady was none too impressed…. But the new one is inbound today
Yippee I hate doing dishes
Ha ha. When I first read that I thought your ancient Spanish dishwasher was an actual person. Duh. lol

Oooh be careful. Have a restful day today

Just looked out of the balcony window and was delighted to see our residential blind hedgehog mooching about in next doors garden. Most hedgehogs will not venture out in the daylight but this one just snucks about without a care in the world. When we first saw it a couple of years ago we were a bit worried about it's welfare but it's a bit of a local celebrity and well cared for by the neighbourhood.

My Dad did all his own sewing and darning, he joined the Navy at sixteen so was used to doing it. Mum looked after parents and siblings from an early age as my Nan was frequently ill. She hated the pile of mending she had to do every week and vowed if she ever married she would never darn a sock again.
I emroidered the names of the team on a hat for the Final in 1966 .

Their eyesight is very poor Fred .I have a video of one on our step at the alst house -no I won't post it -with me talking to it ,his name was of course "Spikey" .He used to arrive just before twilight not dark here in the summer. He only came for one year ,apparently their territory is very big when you consider they have poor sight.
