No. I think one was a 1.3S and I can't remember what the other one was. I've owned a total of 5 Escorts, Mk 2 to Mk 4. Two red, one navy blue, one light blue and one white one - that was the best. 1.6 Laser spec.

I remember them being all the rage around 1984/85. I never owned one myself but could understand why they were popular. Times were different then. I remember the local pub getting up a coach to go to Wembley for the 84 and 85 Charity Shields and they were roughly 50/50 reds and blues. We were all mates though and had a great time on each occasion, completely taking over pubs run by scouse managers, one in Tottenham and the other in the East End. Lots of good hearted mickey taking from both sides. As I say, different times. Now I can barely talk to my brother (who's a RS) about football.

Did a lot of gardening in the past few days and garden is starting to come into bloom. Will post a photo later.
However that has aggravated my achliilies injury so no ping pong for a while.
Been reading a few books recently , anyone come across Mark Giminez like his style. Courtroom dramas , no idea why I should find that interesting!
Rosie is now house trained , which is good , but started to dig up the garden , which isn't. However overall she is a sweet affectionate little dog who I fear won't be little for very long.
Not posted much in a while , I guess we all go through phases. This one has coincided with all the crap stuff going on in the world.
Petrified about tonight's game but fingers crossed 3 points would see us take a bitg step to safety. Sadly I can't see anything other than a thrashing on Sunday.
Lesson for the day , if you are going to lie , keep repeating the same lie time after time and eventually you can ( almost honestly ) say you thought what you were saying was true. What a country we've become to be led by a serial liar without a shred of integrity or honour. And the worst thing is if there was an election tomorrow enough idiots would vote for him for another 5 years. Makes me despair.

I think that the camaraderie between Everton and RS fans changed in the 80s.
We had our greatest ever team and they were resentful.
Their fans disgraceful behaviour at Heysel saw us banned from Europe when we were at our peak.
I remember sat in the top balcony for the Derby when Beglin got his leg broke. It was an horrific injury with his leg at an awful angle and cretins around me were screaming at him incensed that he was feigning injury.

I think the deterioration started with Heysel, continued under Souness, but was completed under Benitez.
As regards Beglin, that was probably my worst experience at a football ground, easily outstripping the Glen Keeley derby when I was sat amongst the Liverpool fans in the Park End stand. I was in the terraces for that game, can't recall whether it was the Enclosure or Paddock as I get confused which was which, and was literally no more than 10 feet away when it happened. You could here the crack. It was sickening. I wasn't a season ticket back in those days and it must have been 2 or 3 years before I attended another game. I spent my Saturday's watching Speke Town, the amateur team I was treasurer of and previously played for.
I suspect the main reaon with your brother is the gulf between the teams ,I watched the highlights from last night and it scared me ,OK utd looked worse than when they played us and I am sure Frank will have the boys up for it but I was wishing Sunday was over .That and the fact that they become more obnoctious every year .
Completely agree J about our so called leader. When I think of the sacrifices people made, not visiting dying loved ones care home residents going without visitors. Utterly shameful from him. Sadly I think he's going to get away with it. Pleased Rosie is doing well. You'll have to post some more pics of here. As for tonight, I feel like every match is a Cup Final.
Never heard of that author. Will look him up. I've just finished reading Helter Skelter about the Manson murders. Written by Vince Bugliosi, one of the prosecuting lawyers. Found it in a charity shop. Well worth a read and a bargain for 30p!

I think it's partly that Blue but it's much more than that. As you well know, from 1971 until the mid 80s Liverpool were always far better than us and much more dominant than they are now. All my family were reds, my mum and dad and m 3 brothers and 2 of my 3 brother in laws. But i could talk to them all about football. I'm not a hateful person, far from it. But I think I have honestly come to hate Liverpool and the entitled attitude of their fans and the subservience of the media towards them. I think it was made worse by the VVD/Pickford episode last year. It isn't something that sits easy with me I can tell you as it flies completely against my character.
