Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Worked from home at my Dad's today. Which I consider to be the true working from home - in my home city! Dad bought us a Tesco meal deal for two for ta and did the cooking - refused to let me help. I'm going to go Allerton cemetery with him tomorrow to visit Mum's grave. He goes Every Wednesday, tidies it up a bit and takes new flowers for her. I haven't been for ages so it will be nice to do that with him. Then it's back to Durham to stress about the Everton match.
Sounds like you had a lovely time with your Dad Anj, safe journey back up north.

Thank you. It's been lovely spending some time with him. He was telling me about Jimmy Harris - the old Everton player who died recently. He remembers him playing when he used to go to the match. Alex Young is still his most favourite player though.

Why does the fact that she has just returned from Madeira put her more at risk of getting an infection?
If you've all been triple jabbed then the risk of infection is reduced and serious consequences or god forbid death are massively reduced.
If you are so worried about your health ( which is perfectly understandable ) then why visit anyone in the first place?
Well if travelling on an aeroplane ,mixing with all the people in the airport and the holiday doesn't increase the risk then I don't know but the risk to me was the concern not her . I visited them because I had a gift for them and as they live 50 miles away I thought it a good idea as we were close by .

We have been on foreign holidays 3 times since the pandemic. On each occasion we have taken precautions and invariably the places that we have visited have had a lower infection rate than the UK.

Given the now widely available vaccination there are 2 routes to follow it seems to me.

1. Return to a normalise life but continue to take sensible precautions

2. Led a hermit like existence ( like my 94 Yr old mum does ) to give all possible safeguards.

One of our cars is burgundy too. It's like my burgundy t-shirts and what not - I'm not letting that shower make me exclude a colour from my repertoire.
Cal drove a red car when I first started dating her. Funnily enough she never had another one over the next 30 plus years.

Never really been in for red tops but have been known to wear red shorts and underwear, but don't tell the girls.

What I don't get from your posts is risk evaluation ,I am a high risk and on my visit to my doctor yesterday he restated the fact that I should be ultra careful .
The problem for me with your first option is that if I do that and get it wrong then I may not be posting on here any longer .
I have a mathematical brain and no chance is far better than a small chance in dying .
One other point is that I live in the middle of nowhere so it seems I have opted for the hermit choice.
