Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Oh my the tone of that guitar is something special.

Just before the first lockdown I saw Gordon Giltrap in a gig at Barnoldswick of all places. It was downstairs in a club and only held about 20. No word of a lie I was sat directly opposite about 5 feet away.
He brought about 6 guitars with him one of which had a very similar tone.
My mate who is a semi pro guitarist said he was the best technical guitarist he'd ever seen play live.
It was a gig I shall treasure forever.
Sounds like a title for a new thread mate …. My best gig ever !!!

Indeed. My younger brother is a percussionist and introduced me to his music. We got the fortune to go and see Paco live when he was touring the US and it was a truly amazing show.
I was a big fan of John McLaughlin as a "yoot" and found Paco through the trio w/ them + Al Di Meola back in the day. As a woodwind player, I had a lot to learn about the music. I knew what I liked, though.

I've always been a sucker for anything played with impeccable technique and this level of mastery. People used to accuse me of shallow ears as a result. They can just kiss my fat patootie, I say.
