Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

We banked Cuff Roberts and most of the partners were my clients. When the Halliwells merger happened it turned out to be much more of an acquisition with alot of the functions moving to Manchester. Many of the Liverpool staff, including some of the solicitors, moved to Hill Dicks taking clients with them. Two of my clients, who retained partnership status at Halliwells, subsequently followed them. Many Liverpool based commercial clients didnt like being serviced out of Manchester and transferred their business too. I know HD worked very hard on this happening.

The acquisition turned into a financial nightmare for Halliwells having lost a lot of the income that made the business model work. So I thought it was karma when HD onboarded Halliwells. Everybody raised a few eyebrows when they took the whole of that new office on Old Hall Street but they pretty much tripled their business in just a few years.

I must admit I was gobsmacked when I saw they were sponsoring BMD so I googled them and couldn't believe how much they had grown since I retired. They are a real success story for the city of Liverpool completely bucking the trend of other prominent local businesses over the last 100 years. I can't think of anyone better to be the first sponsor of our new ground. I think it's an absolutely inspired move by our new owners and totally in line with our ethos of being a local club. I think it's brilliant.
This is what I wanted to hear from local knowledge. Brilliant.

Hi jazzy and everyone, I'm ok, same old same old, gets a bit monotonous doing nothing all the time apart from walking Daisy. I mentioned it to the therapist as it also makes me feel like a waster loser for not working. Constantly getting sick shamed on news outlets. They love bashing the sick and infirm, the most vulnerable people in society. It gets to me as I feel everyone looks down on me because I have ailments.

Is anyone going tomorrow? Hopefully it's a great day.
No-one can help being ill, you are most certainly not a waster. As for news outlets take no notice they are just so much hot air, stuff them. Am going to the ground but don’t have tickets, just going to soak up the atmosphere. Hopefully we’ll get there in time to see the coach arrive.

Don’t be thinking like buddy. It only harms you and you’re too good for that. Ignore the media. UK politics is going sharply right wing and always looking for an easy target.

You are family here, we look after each other.

Morning everyone,

So today is the big day.

I will get up in a few minutes and cut the grass in readiness for the chimps tea party tomorrow as I fear I will be in no fit state to do it after the game and time will run away with itself tomorrow.

Getting down to Goodison about 10.30 to , as G says " soak up the atmosphere" . Still not sure where I will watch the game yet but the intention is to be close to Goodison to be outside for the afternoon match celebration.

End of an era stuff , think it will be pretty sad day but essential for Everton to progress. It's the only good thing Moshiri ever did.

I just hope that for once the players put on a show and absolutely thump a pathetic Southampton team and give the Old Lady a good send off.

I will be back next season to watch the women play there but with the reduction in capacity and closing sections of the ground it will never be the same.

COYB .......please do it!

Hey T , forget all this time waster stuff. AT put it way better than me - he's absolutely right we try to be there for each other on here.

Yes mate I will be heading down to Goodison soon for this ridiculous kick off time and say my own goodbye to the Old Lady.

Could be emotional 😭.

Morning all, just enjoying a cuppa. The Albert Dock and Liver Buildings glinting in the early morning sun, I can just about see them through the murk on the windows! Still I’m here and that’s what matters. Going to have an early breakfast and meet son (his family opted for a day shopping) before heading to the ground. We bought Metrorail tickets yesterday in readiness. To everyone at the match or roundabout the ground, enjoy the day and don’t you dare lose Everton.

Morning all, well the day has finally come. We’ll be setting off at 8. Don’t know exactly how I’m going to react but just to be on the safe side I’ve borrowed the lovely young lady across the road’s waterproof mascara. Plenty of tissues in my bag to mop up the tears.
Whatever and wherever you are marking this massive day I hope you make memories that will last forever 💙

Good morning all. I hope you are all having a good Sunday so far. The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day. Yesterday my brother and I met up with our cousins on our Mum's side of the family and had a blast. We started in The Lime Kiln (Wetherspoons), ate in Tiger Rock on Renshaw Street then had a few more drinks in the grounds of St Luke's church and then went somewhere else when the sun went in. I think it was called something like Molacola but I can't remember! It was a really fun afternoon/evening but I am suffering this morning. I'm not sure if my brother and I are going to Goodison or not. He usually has his sons and grandchildren round every Sunday so we might just stick with that and watch the match at his. I haven't seen my nephews and great nieces for a while so I'm quite happy to do that.
Yesterday, while walking down Bold Street, I saw a bloke in what can only be described as a Superman costume but customised into an all red LFC version. He was carrying a blow up European Cup. I have no words. A.Grown.Adult. I would say in his 40s, walking along with his mates as if this was the most normal thing in the world!
I do hope you feel better @Terrarian , as others have said, don't feel that way - you're poorly and we love hearing about you and Daisy dog.
Have a lovely day all, however you spend it. I'm about to apply a liberal coating of slap to try to look human 🤣X

Never posted in this thread before but read it quite often .
Today as huge as it is , is a double whammy tearjerker as we lost a very good friend of mine on Friday after a short illness.
I've met thousands of Blues in my lifetime but none more so than him. We'd meet in the Arkles before the game for a few pints and a good natter with our sons . Very popular around that area where his family are from & still there and never heard anyone with a bad word about him.
Always laughing seeing the bright side even on dark days , he's going to be sadly missed by many.

There will be 2 empty seats in the Bullens today and know how much he wanted not to miss the last at Goodison.
Season ticket holder and went to many aways including Europe.
I'le not put his name up out of respect for his family , as you can guess everyone that new him are in bits .

Not sure how I'm going to feel later as this is still very raw & emotional atm.
But I do know he would want nothing more than a Blues win and a memorable send off for the Old Lady.
