Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi folks.I hope you are all OK. The sunshine hasn't been around today so it's been a bit on the cool side. Mr F and I have been at Charlotte's this evening - lots of cuddles with Frankie.
I'm very much looking forward to my Liverpool weekend. I'm still waiting to sort Sunday out but there are plenty of options.
I've watched Sky's Goodbye Goodison feature and it is lovely.
Sorry about your elbow @Val P . I hope it isn't too painful for you.

It's weird isn't it, I'm in no way a gardener, but I needed to feed my quince bush as it was looking distinctly flaccid. As I was clearing the detritus from around it I came across a hand written piece of card written by her marking a plant, in the Latin nomenclature. For a moment it just stopped me in my tracks.
A picture I took some time ago round at my brother’s , our late Mum lived with him. One of my granddaughters is convinced it is her Nanny Pat-a-cake come back to visit. Who am I to argue?

Good morning all on this fantastic day here +10° already . I hope all are well and had a good night's sleep, the signs are good for Pete as I am first .
When we shiver we always say my mum is with us ,she absolutely loved my wife and in her later years wanted to stay in Finland ,sadly it was impossible as we lived in the forest with no neighbours and she had no way to get around .
We often remember her picking apples with us with a pair of shorts on at 77 and at midsummer wearing a crown of dandelions whilst unbeknown to me my wifes SIL was running around the house naked ! It seems that after her divorce she became single and it is the tradition for single women to do it .
Despite watching attentively it never happened again!
Have a great day all COYB

Its the small things like that, that I find l trigger the most emotions. Any time I venture into a Marks and Spencer Food Hall and see 'lightly dusted plaice' I immediately think of my Mum. She loved it - but it had to be M and S!
Strange that Anj - for me " lightly dusted place" is my explanation for my pitiful attempts at housework which I will do this morning.

Morning everyone!

Safe journey for everyone that is travelling today or tomorrow, I know there are at least 3 of you.

@Terrarian not heard from you in a while mate. Hope the migraines aren't too bad ( which is a contradiction in itself)

Now that Goodison is being retained as a stadium and available to visit next season some of the high emotion has gone out of Sunday but it's still the end of an era. I think that I will still go to Goodison on Sunday but not sure .

Have a lovely day everyone.

Have to say the Finns sound a bit strange .

Thank you and safe journey to all my fellow travellers. It was Rob who first suggested the trip knowing I would jump at the chance and even though it’s not quite the same, had we known I think we would have still made the decision to go, couldn’t pass up the chance of visiting Liverpool and Goodison (albeit from the outside) again. It took me long enough to get there in the first place.

Off on a tangent AT but we watcchted Ben Fogle in Italy on Ch 5 last night ,he was with a Roman Catholic priest / hermit in Italy and it was an eye opener that I am sure you would like to watch .

I watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed. What a wonderful person to introduce a wider audience to in Father Johannes. If you don’t question your own life and priorities after watching that then I just don’t know.

When you say running around the house, do you mean inside or literally around the outside of it? The former sounds like a fit of pique while the latter has a suggestion of direct advertising.

Afternoon guys. I'm still here. I haven't been whisked away by some Finnish nymph prancing around her house. Sadly.

So far I've been having a bit of a culture week in Liverpool taking in our numerous museums, libraries and art galleries. I've learnt a few things too , like how many vikings settled in parts of the Wirral back in the 900s. So it occurred to ne that if you have part Viking heritage and also links to this part of the world, then chances are you are part Viking part Plazzy (that's plastic scouser in case you were wondering).😎😎

Seeing the brother in law for a few sherbets later but before that I'm going to call into the Cavern and see if my old mates are there. I've been taking it fairly easy on the alcohol so far this trip, building my way up to Sunday.

Anyway I hope you all have a great weekend abd look forward to seeing some of you on Monday.💙💙💙💙

Exactly I found him devoted but even more so accomplished in the life he wanted to live ,so few of us ever get the chance to achieve anywhere near that satisfaction albeit it is a fragile existence for him as the "boss" might demand he relocates .I think his bishop is very accomodating . So glad you enjoyed it as much I hoped .

Well it was around the outside ,according to my wife it is then followed by dreaming of your perfect suitor the same night ! If you ever get here you will realise that"advertising "may not be the word when we cannot see another house .

So many Priests over the years have shuddered coming to my Parish but been moved to tears on leaving. It can’t be easy waiting on the instruction to move elsewhere after bonding with everyone over time.

Wasn’t his little Chapel just beautiful! Quite the accomplished artist as well as a craftsman.

Truth be told, I have thought of little else bar Father Johannes since watching it.
