Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello everybody. Its been freezing today. I saw the very start of the eclipse this morning when I let the cat out. Very impressive . Today Mr F and I are officially empty nesters. Charlotte moved the last of her stuff out and is sleeping in her own house tonight. I have however noticed that she has left her work shirt here to be ironed!
In other news, I finally got my change of hours approved today so I have officially applied for partial retirement. I've had to delay it until 1 August due to my employer's slowness but hopefully it will go through smoothly now.
I hope we win tomorrow. I know we're unbeaten in 8 but there's been a lot of draws. 3 points would be nice.

I love ironing ask Fred .Good luck rattling around the house .You will not regret reducing your hours I am sure .If we win today I think Mosey will have a luck at BMD next week .In his presser yesterday he said he was happy to work with someone else regarding transfers ,why did Kevin leave methinks ? This guy from Leeds must be good ,let's hope he knows what a good CF looks like as I think we have seen the end of Dom and soon to go Beto and Broja . I think his run of form has made Beto more saleable but I don't see him as the answer to Moyes' prayers .

It’s a weird feeling having an empty nest but you do get used to it very quickly (well I did). More time on your hands will be great I’m sure. I hope we win today, like you I feel a bit concerned that Beto has lost his scoring boots and a couple of draws have crept in, but perspective is needed too as I would have snatched your hand off at the beginning of the year to be in this position. I’m going to the match today but I could quite easily not bother. But I’ve decided that the only way to crack this fatigue is to not give in to it. It’s also put me right off alcohol- I had one tin of Guiness 0% last night (so sorry @Armaghtoffee for letting my 3% Irish genes down) and couldn’t fancy anything else. It’s like living in someone else’s body 😂.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone 💙

3% is very precise if you don’t mind me saying!

I don’t mind the Guinness 0% myself, quite close to the real thing. I should actually get some in as this will be a heavy weekend.

They never move out completely, well ours didn’t . Son moved to the next town about 10 miles away then after they had their first baby moved back into the house over the road from us for the next ten years, very convenient for childcare and dog sitting. Seriously I didn’t mind, I had had to give up work ( think I’ve mentioned before) so had the time. They moved again but we are still doing school run as grandson was unable to get a place in a convenient secondary school. Daughter and SIL also moved to about ten miles away then decided to return to live about ten minutes away from us and over the road from her in-laws, also convenient for can you just….
Good news on the job front and Good Luck to Charlotte in her new home.

My son got me one of those Ancestry dna kits last Christmas so I’m going off that but the only Irish person I can find is my 3rd great grandmother born in Derry in 1811.

Good morning all on this fantastic morn here ,full sun but nippy which matter ne'er a jot sitting here . I hope all are well and had a good night's sleep and that those going the game enjoy the afternoon ,it is a strange feeling this enjoyment when linked to Everton ,funny how the mind works .
I have given up hope of my word being solved ,so the answer is - whip .On to the next one word meaning :- hat ,joint and weapon a more concerted effort please !!
I have gone so far with the laptop and now ( because of the dodgy usb ports ) cannot get the windows 10 to install ,I need a cd to get it working and if anyone has one laying around I would willingly pay the postage . I will ask on our village FB page today to see if there is one local and inform on here if the need remains .Have a great day all COYB.

Morning all, frosty start here but thankfully not as cold as @blue1948 but then again we are not lucky enough to have deer in our garden. Apologies if you are about to eat breakfast - I have to go for ear wax removal this morning as industrial amounts of olive oil etc have failed to do the trick. As this is no longer performed on the NHS it’s going to cost £60, what can you do but pay up and look big?
Have a good day all.💙
Did you get Microsuction done this time?
This maybe too much information so apologies in advance.....I have a propensity to get an overload of wax in my ears and have to get them "done" every 6 months.

They used to be syringed but for the last 5 years had them done by micro suction. Yes I pay £50 to get both ears done and it's over in 10 minutes. To be fair the audiologist comes to me but still expensive but well worth it.

Morning everyone,

Our cricket club went early with the St Patrick's Day celebrations @Armaghtoffee last night with a SPD quiz. Much Guinness was consumed and my team came 2nd. We lost by 2 points. The answer to one of the questions we got wrong was table tennis for God's sake. The question was which sport changed the size of it's ball to slow the game down? I said table tennis ( but to be fair - perhaps due to the 5 pints of Guinness wasn't 100% sure and the 3 others went with squash! Anyway the change happened in 2006 and I wasn't playing then , so that's my excuse.

It's interesting how alcohol affects cognitive function because I couldn't remember the meaning of mendacious or who apart from the Hills were the other father and son to have won F1 drivers championship ( Rosbergs).

I'd normally answer both easily but my brain was fogged! Note to self , don't drink as much.

I did however correct the quizmaster on " Which US state is known as the Big Easy " , New Orleans of course isn't a bloody state .

Anyway yesterday wasn't great. Had a long emotional chat with mum who now appreciates that something is wrong but doesn't know what and has convinced herself that we just want to abandon her in a care home.

Lovely day today and normally I'd do loads of gardening but my back is killing me.

Fingers crossed for 3 points against Wham later.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Interesting point on the effects of alcohol. Before the inevitable fuzz kicks in, I find my thought process to be at times sharper and I think that’s due to reduced stress levels.

Difficult time with your Mum but a positive that she recognises something different about herself. Maybe this will encourage her to be frank with a GP next time.
