Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Correct! Welsh I think.

I’m stood now looking out my kitchen window and can see things flying through the air but it’s too dark to see what they are. The noise when it gusts to crescendo is like a train. I’m an early bird anyway but I’m out of bed because this has spooked me.
Morning all. There is certainly evidence of Eowyn being Welsh , Tolkien also used it and he often has names of Welsh origin in his books, usually slightly changed. The “acute accent “ over the E led me to think it’s Irish though . 🤷‍♂️ who knows.

It’s certainly variable, wet and very windy up here. Stay safe everyone, hopefully people can ride out the storm and don’t have to travel too much today .

If the pronunciation even vaguely resembles the spelling, then I don't think it can be Irish.😀

Morning all. I’m lying in bed listening to the wind, its forecast for us til early evening. At the moment it sounds strong but not massively so, and I’m hoping it doesn’t get worse. Stay safe those of you who are having it bad.
Today is the day that finally Mr P goes to see the orthopaedic surgeon about his knee. I hope they will do something for him mainly because it’s horrible seeing him in daily pain but also because we want to get back to going walking together. Although I know it’s nothing compared to what others are going through it makes me sad that we can’t get out and do what we used to really enjoy. We could have been seen earlier at a couple of other hospitals but he’s hung on for Wrightington as it’s only about 2 miles from where we live and it’s an international centre of excellence for rheumatology and orthopaedics. My very first job as an Occupational therapist was there - I was lucky to get it and I learned so much. I have so much respect for them.
Have a great Friday everyone- I hope you are not impacted too much by the weather 💙
I wish the best for Mr P it is amazing how they get you up walking almost straight away . I remember my Mum being in hospital for seven days for the birth of my brother ,now they have you out so much quicker ,nice to free up the beds when needed .

Hi guys, hope you're all good. pretty windy out there today. Not been posting much, just a few in the main forum, I seem to have concentration issues at the minute.

I've been waiting 15 days so far for Daisy's new coat to arrive. I should've paid more attention from where I was buying from. It was a company called Doggy Kings and it's coming from bloody China. Last update I had was on the 20th when it left customs but no sign of it yet, note to self...buy from UK in future.

Last time I posted here Dyche was manager, I am so so relieved that guy has gone. Whatever you think of Moyes, he's a far better manager than Dyche will ever be. Let's continue to improve and hopefully move away from the relegation battle, I do believe we have the players to do that, some reinforcements would be nice though.

Have a good day everyone.

Good luck with the appointment. I hope he gets a plan of action. X

Nice to hear from you

Good morning all. We are currently in full Amber alert mode. It's pretty scary. I can't imagine what a red alert would be like. Hope you are OK @Armaghtoffee. Our fence has just blown down . Good job daughter was in work early this morning otherwise her car would have been parked next to it. I've also had to go out to rescue the wheelie bin ( it's bin day) and discovered we have acquired another one - blown in from who knows where!
Being my father's daughter I can't help but think about all the seafarers out at sea in these conditions.
No overtime this weekend so a lie in calls!

The Irish of that name would be Eoin most commonly but also Eoghain (both pronounced as Owen).

The accent over letters in Irish is called a fada.
