One of the best we have seen for ages ,how is your Avacado plant @Val P ? Ours is getting tall now and is supported by the plants next to it so we are afraid it might topple if we move it ?No we’ve not seen that one yet - it’s on the list
Mr P has one. I don’t think it was mega expensive and it’s not massive so you can move it around easily but it enabled us to clearly see the rings of Saturn which was amazing. We don’t use it v much at all tbh - we should, especially now when so many planets are clearly visible.Good morning all on this fine day here ,I hope all are well and had good night . There were plenty of stars visible last evening , I have been considered buying a telescope .I think I mentioned I got one that attaches to my phone and it is really good although it takes a bit fidgeting to line it up so it doesn't wobble .We I used it to look at a couple of stars and to be honest with 20x magnification they still looked just the sme -a twinkle in the sky ,so it looks like a quite powerful/expensive one would be needed to see any real amount of interesting ones .Have a great day all COYB
It got far too big for the conservatory so my son said he’d have it. He’s left it out over winter because it wouldn’t fit in his house either and whilst it’s looking very much worse for wear, it’s definitely not dead. It’s about 8 feet tall now, so we’re just waiting to see if it lasts the winter - I hope it does. Mr P put a thick cane in the pot when it was younger until the trunk became thick enough to support the whole tree. One of the best we have seen for ages ,how is your Avacado plant @Val P ? Kia Jorabchim isn't allowed inside Goodison these days ATAny shark sightings?
I like a monstera, but don’t have much luck with them. I currently have one in rehab in the spare room where it can get a lot of light at a fairly steady temperature and it seems to be doing well. It started off in the bathroom but didn’t fare well at all. I’ll try it back in there when the weather warms up.Oh I like the talk of indoor plants!
Despite spending loads of time gardening I'm hopeless with them but thankfully Mrs J knows what she is doing and we have some nice ones in the Orangery some of which camouflage my loudspeakers.
She also has some fabulous Monstera ( Swiss cheese plant) with massive leaves - will post some photos later.
Yep you can never be too careful . I have a small circle on the back of my hand which I had examined about 10 years ago but they couldn’t give me an answer. It has since doubled in size so I had it rechecked ,. Apparently it’s a “ seborrhoeic keratosis” , no red flags or problems but was worth checking out.So just a heads up (pardon the pun) I had this skin cancer on my head. Went to a specialist he took a biopsy of it and sent it away, it turned out to be basal cell carcinoma,
I went to the specialist today they cut it out , they do it a layer as a time, after 2 procedures it was all out , 9 stitches later all good to go home
The reason I’m putting it up here if you have any moles or anything that looks like this below, get it looked at as it’s a lot better to catch this early

They are obviously all thriving very well- very impressive. My monstera is a baby in comparison. I love the blue pots.View attachment 290961View attachment 290962View attachment 290963
Hi Val , from top to bottom
Monstera, a pair of Mother in Law's Tongues and a selection ( with 2 large rubber plants ) hiding my speakers.
We keep the temperature at a pretty constant 17° and give them all a good drink every fortnight plus a banana feed every 3 months.
They all seem to like it.
As Harry Connick sang ..." It had to be blue "They are obviously all thriving very well- very impressive. My monstera is a baby in comparison. I love the blue pots.
Glad everything is OK. Completely agree with you - especially after Chris's experiences. Even if it doesn't look like a mole - his melanoma was pink and looked like a bite. If you have any worries or concerns get it checked out .So just a heads up (pardon the pun) I had this skin cancer on my head.
