We saw a version of the S&G story about 10 years ago in Inverness, it was excellent. Then about 8 years ago I was in Cardiff for a rugby match and managed to get a ticket to Art Garfunke’s show. This was when he was doing a comeback after his voice went . He wasn’t fully recovered and could only manage half of “Bridge” at that time.Afternoon everyone.
Went to see the Simon & Garfunkel Story last night in the lovely little Atkinson in Southport.
Absolutely fantastic, even Mrs J who isn't a massive fan loved it.
Been doing a lot of gardening in the last few days. Planted about 5 trees , 6 Rhodis and moved about 10 shrubs that had just got too big.
Then barked the new area with 20 barrow loads of bark ( kind local tree surgeon tips it when he chips fallen trees ).
Quite pleased with the overall look.
Another couple of hours gardening this afternoon then , as it's Friday , it's down the pub for a pint for me and Mrs J ( she doesn't have a pint Gwladys) and then some vino , log fire and a pizza.
Happy days.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Does he have a twin sister? lolI currently have Placebo blaring out and it’s very reasonable to describe Brian Molko as a poppet guitarist.

That thread was what made me binge on them today. I saw them underage in Belfast in 1996 but still got served at the barDoes he have a twin sister? lol
I noticed they were the topic of conversation in the what you're listening to thread. Must give them a proper listen.
I'm all TLDP'd out today anyway.
Sorry Jazz that settles it. What H wants H gets. lol
Have a lovely time, sounds goodMorning all, was a lovely day weather wise yesterday and it’s another good one again today. Going upmarket today as decided to take the bus to Oundle, about 12 miles away. Have bus pass - will travel! The town is a bit posh owing to it having a public school but the pub is down to earth, well they let us in. lol The pub is quite quirky - outside is traditional but inside it’s fitted out like a sixties American diner, also they have a great selection of vegetarian options, rather than a choice of three bean chilli or veggie burger.
Have a good day all.![]()
Me too!I wanted photos of the period restaurant .
Didn't realise they'd been around that long AT.That thread was what made me binge on them today. I saw them underage in Belfast in 1996 but still got served at the bar
They only had about 13 songs then and played 2 of them twice that night.
Oh you like classical music Jazz? As it happens I know of a really good young band that write and play their own classical music. lolYep relaxes me too
Yeah, they were the alternative choice to mainstream Britpop and really unlike anyone else at the time. Festival staples in the UK and Ireland.Didn't realise they'd been around that long AT.
I actually like all types of music exceptOh you like classical music Jazz? As it happens I know of a really good young band that write and play their own classical music. lol
Yeah seen Art at the Phil a couple of times. The last occasion was about 4 years ago just before COVID I think. We saw a version of the S&G story about 10 years ago in Inverness, it was excellent. Bet you loved the Bangles then or was the criteria for an all female super group not fully formed then Fred? lolYeah but they have to have poppet guitarists or they don't count![]()
Loved the Bangles. Loved The Runaways too (Joan Jett) The GoGos (Belinda Carlisle), Four non blondes (who weren't really poppets) and more recently Haim (who were/are poppets)Bet you loved the Bangles then or was the criteria for an all female super group not fully formed then Fred? lol
