Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning everyone, ands what a cold one it is. No snow though as it didn't settle, mind you the amount of rain washes it away anyhow.

Just catching up, doesn't seem like 6 days since I posted in here, mad.

I'm feeling very disheartened but not by football, although that as well. There is so much war going on in the world that it is crazy. Wars all over Africa and the Middle East, Russia invading Ukraine, have to watch my language here but the Israeli, let's say massacre of people and the destruction of an entire country.

I stopped supporting their right to self defence when they keep bombing schools and hospitals, watching Al Jazeera you see it all pretty much real time, it is horrendous. Anyway, hope I haven't spoken out of turn I know it's an emotive subject.

The USA and Britain seem determined to start something with Iran and the Houthis, now Iran and Pakistan have started bombing each other, where the hell does all this end, WWIII seems more likely than ever.

So sorry for heavy subject matter. Hope you all have a great day.
Yep current affairs are very depressing.

I try not to worry about anything that I can't influence/ affect.

Doesn't work though!

I don’t know this story! To be fair to Ramsay, he also has burger restaurants.
It piqued my interest to see if he had a restaurant in Cornwall seeing as he now lived here. He doesn't. But I couldn't believe how many restaurants were listed on his website; must be over a hundred. The vast majority of those have to be franchises surely. Even with a hefty management team you can't effectively manage that lot.

More news on boiler watch.....

British Gas engineer here promptly at 9am and fitted a replacement fan and fully tested the boiler .

An hour after he left the boiler broke down with exactly the same bloody fault code as before.

To say that I am furious and frustrated is to massively understate it

And to think that I thought it would be a stress free weekend without Everton playing.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

I think this calls for some Kate Bush vinyl and a nice bottle of St Emilion Jazz. ;)

One advantage of these cold days is the perfectly clear skies at nighttime. Jupiter is right beside the moon now and is a sight I recommend you take the time to see.

You will also really appreciate the warmth of your house when you get back in :)
All I had to do was draw the curtain back and look out of my bay windows AT. Nice and warm and dry. Would have been better if there was more than a half moon though. And I wouldn't have guessed in a million years that was Jupiter next to it.

Stop watching the news and go and put your headbanging music on T. That's my advice .

I know he has certainly always encouraged the best chefs to have a stake in their restaurant so that’s a kind of franchise I guess.

I have only ever eaten in 2 of his restaurants and fairly sure the Irish one isn’t his anymore.

Hi Folks. All work today - very dull. I've gained two and a half hours flexi this week, all of it due to not having to plan my day around Mr F's shifts. Can start earlier and take a shorter lunch so, every cloud!

I agree with you @Terrarian, it feels like the world is on the verge of WW3. I keep up with current affairs but avoid the news at all costs. It's horrendous and without opening a huge can of worms, I find that there is very little unbiased reporting and lots of political spin. What a nightmare @jazzy, hope you get sorted asap. Sorry to hear you are having a tough time @peteblue . Hope it improves a bit. I saw Jupiter this morning when I let the cat out. The sky Was absolutely clear. I love astronomy and stars. I was reading yesterday about a new object that has been discovered which is heavier than a neutron star but lighter than a black hole. The scientists are very excited.

We're going to Nottingham for th day tomorrow - Santa is making a very delayed visit. Looking forward to seeing oldest child.

Incidentally I read that Gomes' free kick was the first one we had scored from since Lucas Digne scored one - 196 matches ago.

Have a good night - I may indulge in a small beverage later. I have some prosecco rose from my birthday.
