Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. -3 here and I'm frozen!. My self imposed rule is heating does not go on until 2pm at the very earliest - unless we have visitors 🤣. As somebody else said I've no idea how @blue1948 and @Ducans elbow cope with their temperatures. I was also wondering, like @Gwladysover, how we used to cope. I remember getting dressed under the bed covers and we had one gas fire that heated the whole house.
I loved your story @jazzy. A very honest appraisal of the crisp situation.
So happy with the result last night and especially happy for Gomes. Dyche seems to like him.
Gym tonight - having finally got Christmas and my birthday out of the way, I'm back on it. Celery and hummus for breakfast!
Have a good day x

Thanks for that explanation- I understand now. I was afraid to ask because the last time I asked a Scottish person a question it went a bit like this
Me: so which of your parents is Spanish Juan?
Scottish guy: my parents aren’t Spanish
Me: so why did they call you Juan?
Scottish guy: they didn’t- my mates call me Juan cos my surname is Kerr
Could have died of embarrassment tbh šŸ˜‚
Val P : ā€œ
I was afraid to ask because the last time I asked a Scottish person a question…..

blueloon : That’s ok , I’m not Scottish , I’m Welsh. Mrs blueloon is Scottish though so at times I do feel the need to defend the sensitivities of the Scottish people šŸ˜‚. I’ve lived in Scotland for 30 years , slightly longer than I lived in Wales, with many years in England too !

I don’t know how you do it over there blue. -3 here this morning and I couldn’t even do my normal walk, just too cold and slippy.
Well the truth is I have to cope ,on my list of choices there is only one entry ,the main aids are many layers of clothing and good shoes ,I must have mentioned ours have spikes on the sole (outside ) I am not a fakir -although some think I am !!!! Also a machine for the snow as it would be too much at my age to do it by hand.

Not much to tell really @blue1948, the players looked exhausted, the atmosphere was non existent, I think everyone is just battle weary at the moment. A moment of brilliance from Gomes was the real highlight, and seeing Virginia do so well in goal - calm and composed. Definitely a few off days for some - Harrison and DCL in particular- I’m sure others will disagree. It’s great that we are through but it’s at the expense of the full winter break which would probably have been more beneficial. Still, bring on Luton šŸ’™
Great reportage and analysis Val.

Of course I always want us to win but the league is far more important and boy we could have done with 2 weeks off

Think it helps when you have nice warm knickers. Or so I'm told.

Beautiful and sunny down here today. Quite cold, a tiny sprinkling of frost on the field behind for the first time this winter. I noticed the daff shoots have sprouted though and they'll be flowering next month. Always a sure sign that spring is on it's way.

I didn't even know there was a match last night until GOT sent me a message with the result. I've become a terrible fan. lol

Hope you all have a great day and Mr F has some good news coming his way.

I've missed that @Barnfred 55 .For the benefit of @Val P ,the girls on here all seem to have had the same undergarment requirements at school and the cad loves to refer to them -the undergarments -perhaps because ours were not so itchy..,or brown is his favourite colour .

Every chance that in 4 months we will all be wearing shorts but right now I am working beside a lit fire while wearing a hoody.

Glad I'm not there blue. Genuinely don't know how you can stick it so cold.
I know we all persuade ourselves we are doing what is best but I love the four seasons ,although spring is about a week long here ,I love being outside when it is well below zero , coming in to a spiced wine or a lamumba .We feel we deserve it after braving the cold . Each to there own I suppose .Luckily our house is a set temperature all year so we are not cold for long .
